As a Strategic Account Analyst, you’ll provide direct account management services for a portfolio of wholesale and industrial accounts requiring specialized, technical industry expertise on a broad array of supply, trading, rate design, and invoice management topics. You will be a key player in the development of sales proposals, scenario modeling, and contract execution activities, and will also own the responsibility for the day to day coverage of the account’s operational requests. You will support wholesale/industrial origination initiatives and reposition existing processes in supply management and billing for this segment focusing on efficiency and scale. While primary responsibility for acquisition and renewal activity lives within the inside/outside sales teams, you will partner with Sales to support a “team selling” paradigm for select large industrial customers, municipalities, direct connects and strategic deals as identified through the Southeast. Business modeling, reporting, and product structuring are important support functions of this role.

Other stuff we like:




  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Business related.

  • One to two years of experience in natural gas scheduling and/or asset management preferred.

  • Familiarity and experience with Atlanta Gas Light, Southern Natural Gas, Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line, and other LDC and pipeline tariffs across the Southeast preferred.

  • Comprehension of data analysis and modeling tools available in MS Excel, in particular the ability to ensure model integrity, build modifications and apply the models to commercial business decisions.

  • Understanding of numerical studies for regression analysis, financial modeling, probability/statistics, and optimization.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and discuss complex issues with external parties.

  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Negotiating and mediating skills.

  • Ability to identify risks and manage them.

  • High attention to detail and critical thinking skills.



More details on what you would be responsible for:




  • Work closely with Sr. Originator and Sales staff to maintain and gain new business with both existing and new products. Assist in the preparation of technical sales proposals to key customers, including customer and account research, producing and customizing proposals, and interacting with customers directly.

  • Serve as liaison for customer and internal departments by proactively resolving issues for key technical accounts.

  • Evaluate rate alternatives which will meet the customer’s and the company’s needs; understand customer load requirements, purchasing practices, and budgeting process.

  • Provide deal recommendations to Sales that balances a data driven approach with creative and out of the box thinking.

  • Demonstrate comprehensive and current knowledge of pertinent technical, business, regulatory and industry issues related to key customers.

  • Demonstrate trust, responsiveness, value and expert level market knowledge by engaging with identified customers, consultants and industry associations.

  • Support key customer operational gas supply needs as needed from time to time.

  • Foster strategic relationship development with internal stakeholders and external market participants.

  • Operational order management and communication.

  • Customer commodity, credit, and operational risk management modeling and support.

  • Baseload and imbalance management.

  • Invoice validation and reconciliation.

  • Contract management support.

  • Market price and load scenario modeling.

  • Ad hoc operational and financial modeling in support of company budgeting and decision making.

  • Some travel will be involved with this position.
