Then the Sr. Manager of Compensation and Benefits may be the job for you. The Sr. Manager of Compensation and Benefits is responsible for designing and maintaining a compensation and benefits strategy and structure that will attract and retain employees while meeting the company’s budgetary needs and remaining legally compliant. You manage a team responsible for benefits administration, benefit compliance, compensation strategy and design and company payroll. You will also work closely with external compensation consultants as well as our benefits broker and providers to manage benefit costs, offerings, and meet our employees’ needs.

Other stuff we like:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or another related field (required).
- Five years of experience in compensation design, benefits administration and design, and HRIS systems (UKG Pro preferred).
- Knowledge of job evaluation, building compensation packages , bonus and commissions programs for various departments and seniority levels.
- Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and demonstrated experience managing large complex budgets coupled with excellent communications skills and ability to interface with all levels of corporate management to provide compensation and benefits direction.
- Ability to design benefit programs which balance employee engagement/needs, cost effectiveness, and legal requirements.
- Knowledge of ACA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, etc.
You’ll be responsible for:
Compensation
- Design and implement base pay and incentive programs.
- Ensure pay is externally competitive, internally equitable, and legally compliant.
- Make recommendations regarding salary structure, salary grades, and market rates for specific jobs or functional areas.
- Manage the annual merit and bonus process, design and/or maintain model, recommend necessary changes to the senior leadership team.
- Oversee annual compensation survey participation, benchmarking process, and data analysis.
- Research best compensation practices in the market.
- Oversee pay data integrity and payroll processing in HRIS.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining corporate labor budget.
Benefits
- Ensure programs align with business objectives and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Research plans and providers in order to develop benefits programs that optimize costs, maintain external competitiveness, and meet organizational goals.
- Consult with other HR roles to ensure benefits offerings meet employees’ needs to enhance engagement.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with benefit providers and broker.
- Oversee benefits data integrity and enrollment processing in HRIS.
- Oversee leave administration process including employee education, communication, and payroll processing.
- Responsible for legally required benefits compliance including, but not limited to, employee notices, 1095 forms, Affirmative Action plans, EEO filings, etc.
Team Leadership
- Provide vision, leadership, planning, and management to facilitate running an effective and efficient team that delivers exceptional service.
- Lead the development of strategic plans to ensure our business and employee costs and needs are aligned.
- Promote proactive approaches to solving business needs and problems.
- Develop and manage a strong team through the hiring of diverse and skilled talent, strong performance management and personnel development, and clear goal setting and results tracking.
- Set performance standards and hold team members and vendors accountable.
