Maintenance Technician - Part Time

SIMEDHealth is looking for a Part Time Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician, under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, will help maintain SIMEDHealth’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities as well as contribute, as needed, to other maintenance efforts in the appropriate condition for the delivery of healthcare and other related business.



The Maintenance Technician would have the following qualifications:




  • High School diploma or equivalent PREFFERED

  • Proficient knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry REQUIRED

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and reliable transportation REQUIRED

  • Must be in good physical condition.  Hands on position required to bend, lift, push, pull, and carry 50lbs. REQUIRED

  • Able to read and understand commercial blueprints & construction documents PREFERRED

  • The availability to work weekends and after hours REQUIRED

  • 1-2 years previous construction project and/or property management experience PREFERRED



The following list of duties is representative of what may be required of your position:




  • Will be required to perform all maintenance, cleaning, landscaping, painting, pest control and other duties as needed in order to meet deadlines and goals and to help ensure SIMEDHealth facilities are maintained in an appropriate and safe manner

  • Minimize disruption to our outpatient health care services when scheduling maintenance, cleaning, and other projects, including if necessary, after hours and/or weekends

  • Respond to on-call or emergency maintenance issues after hours as needed

  • Assist Facilities Manager with construction projects as needed

  • Monitor and track all materials and equipment used in and needed for buildings and grounds projects

  • Monitor maintenance ticket system and address maintenance tickets as instructed by supervisor

  • Ensure all projects are completed safely and that safety supplies, protective gear and proper safety techniques are used at all times by SIMEDHealth employees, vendors, sub-contractors or others while working on SIMEDHealth property

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with vendors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure positive results for maintenance, landscaping, security and other building and grounds functions

  • Routinely inspect all properties for wear and tear, damage, and aging

  • Participate with any moving into, out of or within our buildings by facilitating transportation with moving equipment and supplies to and from all SIMEDHealth locations

  • Responsible for maintaining building, security and disaster protocols

  • Setup & breakdown for meetings, functions, seminars, etc. as needed

  • Maintain warehouse storage, organization, routine purging and transport of materials

  • Adhere with compliance of all SIMEDHealth policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Fill in for shuttle drivers when needed

  • Assist with cleaning and routine maintenance of shuttle van as needed

  • Travel to satellite clinics as needed

  • Purchase supplies as needed and/or directed by the Facilities Manager
