OPEN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT



The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. As a condition of employment, employees are required to participate in the payroll direct deposit program. POSITION TITLE: 911 TELECOMMUNICATOR TRAINEE



HOURS: Full time, shift work, weekends, and holidays, 24 hour operation.

May be called in for emergencies or to accommodate staffing requirements



SALARY: Starting Salary $16.64 hourly. Annual Education Incentive: Associates $996, Bachelor’s $2,004, Master’s $2,496. 1% above base pay up to 10% for prior experience.

TRAINING: All necessary training and equipment are provided.



DESCRIPTION: Responsible, demanding specialized work in receiving, processing and dispatching of emergency and non-emergency information for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services.



REQUIREMENTS: To submit an application:

 High School diploma/GED

 Must be at least 18 years of age

 Typing and Computer Skills

 Must successfully achieve the minimum passing score on pre-employment testing

 Good moral character and no felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral character or perjury



SELECTION: All applicants must successfully complete various testing requirements. Successful applicants will be scheduled for an Oral Board Interview. Selected applicants must successfully complete the requirements of a conditional employment offer and pre-employment background investigation, a polygraph, drug test, physical examination, hearing test, and psychological examination.
